“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” – Michelle Obama
Happy International Women’s Day (IWD).
At VHL Partners, we are delighted to be supporting International Women’s Day, especially as 2021 marks 2 important themes; ‘Women in leadership’ and ‘Choose to challenge’- inviting us all to “seek out and celebrate women’s achievements and create an inclusive world.”
Joining the international movement to reflect on the accomplishments of women in their skills, experience and expertise, we are proud to share our commitment to promote and support the success of women, both within the accountancy profession and throughout the wider business community.
Women in Accounting
Traditionally a male dominated field, the role of women in accounting has changed remarkably since its early days. Today, women have come a long way in achieving greater gender parity as the number of women accountants steadily increase each year. However, the need for progress is not over. We know that in the accounting sector, women remain underrepresented in top executive and partner positions and often face greater work-life conflicts than their male counterparts.
Empowering women leaders at VHL & Partners
At VHL Partners, we are committed to raising awareness and encouraging discussion to champion the career advancement and strengths of talented women. Led from the top, professional development and diversity are all part of our core values that continue to guide our services and work we provide.
We are proud of the contributions that we have made to build a flexible and thriving dynamic culture in the workplace. On International Women’s Day 2021, we continue our mission to promote greater organisational support for high-performing female accountants to achieve their full potential in their professional lives.
“At VHL Partners, we believe in a dynamic system to support work-life balance and encourage productivity and contribution. We aim to empower talented female accountants to achieve more and our firm is delighted to support each one of them. It is our goal that all professional women and men can enjoy greater flexibility and support in order to appreciate the value of both life and work, to have great careers and great families.”
– Nina Hu (Partner, Advisor)
This year, we hope to inspire women in the accounting profession to aspire towards leadership and partner positions both at VHL Partners and beyond our firm. We look forward to building greater equality throughout the accounting industry and encourage you to take measures in your professional circle to help create a more equitable, inclusive world.
